Privacy notice
Surf is a Hard Copy business. This notice explains what we do with your details when you join the Surf waitlist. Our full privacy policy for the Surf service will be published here before Surf launches.
What we collect
- Your email address.
- The interests you pick, if any (for example trading cards or comics).
- When you joined and ticked the box agreeing to be emailed.
To stop automated sign-ups, our database briefly records a scrambled version of your internet address when you join. It can't be turned back into your address and is deleted after one day.
Why we use it
To email you when Surf launches, because you asked us to (your consent). Your interests help us decide which products to add first. We don't send marketing, and we never sell or share your details.
Where it's kept and for how long
In Surf's database, hosted by Supabase in London. Our website is served by Cloudflare. We keep the waitlist until we've sent the launch email, then delete it within six months of launch unless you've created a Surf account.
Your rights
You can ask to see your details, correct them, or be removed from the waitlist at any time. Email hello@surfalerts.uk and we'll do it promptly. If you're unhappy with how we handle your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
